Description:
Shrub or a small tree up to 7 m tall. Mature bark peels off in stripes or shells. Needles come in whorls of three, upright. The upper side has a white band. Fruit is berry-like (female flowers), circular to oval, 6-9 mm in diameter, blue to grey to black colour.

Usage:
Antiseptic effect of the aromatic oils has a beneficial effect on treating urinary canal conditions, pulmonary diseases, joint problems, stomach and bowel problems, women's diseases. As a spice it is used for aromatising brandy and other refreshing drinks and hunter's gastronomic specialities.
