Description:
Perennial shrub whose branches stretch on the ground or climb upwards (similar as runners). Branches are thorny. The bark is thin and green. Leaves are downy, lower leaves have 5 and higher have 3 leaflets. The top side is dark green and the underside is white and downy. Flowers are white with a 2 cm diameter. The fruit is berry-like, referred to as aggregate fruit and juicy. Each fruit contains a seed.

Leaves are used for treating diarrhoea, inflammations in the larynx and liver, and the fruit as forest fruit. It is widely used in the food processing industry.
