Usage:
Edible mushroom of top quality, many consider it to be the best edible species in general. Some mind its penetrating odour and floury taste. It can be fried or grilled. It is suitable for drying and pickling or it can be stored in oil. It can be frozen after blanching because otherwise it might develop a strong disagreeable taste. St. George's mushroom has some medicinal properties, to be more precise, it has hypoglycaemic properties which facilitate blood sugar (glucose) lowering. Therefore, it has an insulin effect.
